5 - Côtes des blancs and Coteaux du Sézannais (in white on map)
Côtes des blancs, birthplace of chardonnay wines: here the famed villages, with names you will readily recognize, resemble amphitheatres carved into the surrounding hillsides. Neighbouring Coteaux du Sézannais offers a pleasing blend of pastoral and wine-producing countryscapes. Both regions include a wealth of historic points of interest. |
6 The Barsequanais (in red on map):
Bordering Frances famed Burgundy region is Les Riceys, the largest champagne-producing area with three guaranteed vintages of origin or appellations d'origine contrôlée.
7 Baralbin Country (in red on map):
No tour of Champagne would be complete without a trip to the royal crystalworks at Bayel. The ovens of this noble establishment have been in operation since 1666.
